Embarcación

It is the heart of the north of Salta and meeting point of the two big cities of the north, San Ramón de la Nueva Orán and Tartagal, junction to the National Route No. 81, which makes it part of the Bioceanic Corridor.

Since the installation of the railway station, belonging to the C-15 branch of the General Belgrano line in 1911, it became a thriving railway center, so it was necessary to install workshops and locomotive depots, opening the way to development, which was taken advantage of by traders who settled in the area.

In its surroundings you can find Wichi communities with their ancestral customs and original handicrafts in wood and chaguar fiber.

The patron saint festivities of Embarcación are held in August in honor of San Roque.

During the summer in the Paseo de la Hermandad, the people participate in the disinterment of the Carnival Devil that symbolizes the red sun and, according to the belief, is the one who fertilizes the Pachamama or Mother Earth, when the ceremony ends they sing and throw water, flour, talcum powder and streamers.
